Spam Protection

Reduce unwanted and potentially harmful email with effective spam filtering and mail security controls — included on every Droppoint plan.

How spam filtering works

Every inbound message passes through multiple layers of filtering before it reaches your mailbox:

  • Connection-level checks — sender IP reputation, reverse DNS, RBL lookups
  • Envelope checks — SPF, DKIM and DMARC validation of the sending domain
  • Content analysis — message body, headers, URLs and attachments scanned against known spam patterns
  • Malware scanning — attachments checked for known viruses and malicious payloads
  • Bayesian filtering — adaptive filters that learn from patterns across the platform

What gets filtered

  • Bulk unsolicited email (spam)
  • Phishing attempts and spoofed sender addresses
  • Messages containing malware or suspicious attachments
  • Emails from known spam sources and blacklisted IPs

False positives

No spam filter is perfect. Legitimate messages occasionally get caught. Droppoint quarantines suspected spam rather than silently deleting it, so you can review and release false positives. You can also whitelist trusted senders to prevent future false positives.

Outbound protection

We also monitor outbound mail to protect your sending reputation. If an account is compromised and starts sending spam, we detect and stop it quickly — before it damages your domain's reputation or gets your IP blacklisted.

Reporting

Admins can view spam filtering statistics for their domain, including messages blocked, quarantined and delivered, to understand the volume and nature of threats targeting their organisation.

Pricing

Spam protection is included on all Droppoint plans at no extra cost. See Pricing for full plan details.
