How migration works

1. Planning

We review your current setup — how many mailboxes, how much data, which DNS records need to change, and when to cut over with the least disruption to your team.

2. DNS preparation

We prepare the MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for your domain on Droppoint before the switch. Records are verified and ready before any mail flow changes.

3. Data migration

We copy your existing mail, folders and contacts to your new Droppoint mailboxes. The old mailboxes stay active during the copy so nothing is missed.

4. DNS cutover

When everything is ready, we update your MX records to point to Droppoint. New mail starts flowing to your new mailboxes immediately. The cutover is typically seamless — your team opens their mail client and everything is there.

5. Verification

We verify mail flow, check authentication records, and monitor deliverability for the first few days after cutover to make sure everything is working correctly.
