Set Up Your Droppoint Mailbox in Outlook
This takes about five minutes. You will need your mailbox address and password.
Steps
- Open Outlook and go to File → Add Account.
- Enter your full mailbox address (e.g. you@yourcompany.com) and choose Advanced options → Let me set up my account manually, then select IMAP.
- Enter these server settings:
- Incoming mail (IMAP): imap.droppoint.xyz, port 993, SSL/TLS
- Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.droppoint.xyz, port 587, STARTTLS
- Enter your mailbox password when prompted, and finish setup.
- Send yourself a test email to confirm both sending and receiving work.
If Outlook rejects the password: confirm 2FA isn't requiring an app-specific password instead of your regular login password — check the admin console if unsure.
See our Business Email Hosting page for supported protocols, or contact support if setup doesn't go smoothly.
Reset a Mailbox Password
If you know your current password
- Log in to webmail or the admin console.
- Go to account/security settings and choose "Change password".
- Enter your current password, then the new one.
If you have forgotten your password
Use the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in page — a reset link is emailed to the recovery address on file for your mailbox. If no recovery address is set, an admin will need to reset it for you (see below).
If you are an admin resetting it for someone else
- Log in to the admin console.
- Open the mailbox in question and choose "Reset password".
- Set a temporary password and share it securely with the mailbox owner — ask them to change it on first login.
Tip: if 2FA is enabled and the user has lost their second factor too, that needs a separate admin-assisted recovery step — see our Security page for the account recovery policy.
