Email Backup
Automatic daily backups of your business email with retention windows sized to your plan — so a deleted message or a compromised account does not mean permanent data loss.
How backup works
Droppoint backs up all mailbox data automatically every 24 hours. Backups are stored encrypted in a separate region from your primary mail infrastructure. No action is required from you — backup runs silently in the background.
Retention by plan
- Starter: 14-day backup retention
- Business: 30-day backup retention
- Enterprise: 90-day backup retention
What is backed up
- All email messages and attachments
- Folder structure
- Contact lists
- Account settings and filters
Restoring from backup
If you need to restore mail from a backup — whether a single mailbox, a folder, or the entire account — contact support@droppoint.xyz with the account details and the approximate date you want to restore from. Restores are typically completed within 4 hours during support hours.
Backup vs archiving
Backup is about disaster recovery — getting your mail back after accidental deletion, account compromise or a technical failure. Archiving is about long-term retention for compliance and record-keeping. Droppoint's built-in backup covers the disaster recovery use case. If you need compliance archiving with legal hold and search, contact us to discuss options.
Pricing
Email backup is included on all Droppoint plans at no extra cost. See Pricing for full plan details.
